3D Morphology

Our research relies heavily on non-invasive imaging techniques like surface scanning and X-ray computed tomography (CT) to visualise external as well as internal features of biological specimens. The resulting digital models serve important roles as virtual avatars of their physical specimens, and are regularly involved in hypothesis testing, education, outreach, and museum displays. Some of our 3D models can be seen on Sketchfab and MorphoSource, although this is just a small peek into the diversity of organisms we work with.
